Poly is designed to respect your privacy. This policy explains what data Poly handles, where it is stored, and the choices you have.
By default, Poly stores your decks and flashcards locally on your device. Your study content is not uploaded to our servers unless you choose to enable a feature that requires it.
If you join the Poly waitlist, we collect the email address you submit and basic submission details, such as the source of the signup and the time it was sent. We use this information to send launch updates and product-related messages. You can ask us to remove your email from the waitlist at any time.
The website stores your light or dark theme preference in your browser using local storage. Poly does not use this preference to identify you across other websites.
iCloud Sync is an optional feature available to Pro users. When enabled, your decks and flashcards are synced through your private Apple iCloud account so they stay up to date across your devices. This data is handled by Apple under your iCloud settings, and Poly does not have access to your iCloud-stored content.
You can turn iCloud Sync off at any time.
When you use Poly's AI features, the prompt you provide and any content you choose to include in that prompt are sent to a third-party AI provider in order to generate flashcards. We send only what is needed to fulfil your request and do not include your other decks unless you choose to include that content.
When an AI+ user requests professional pronunciation, selected card text, language code, and deck topic are sent to our AI speech provider to create an AI-generated voice recording. Other cards and decks are not included.
AI-generated content may contain mistakes or inaccuracies. You should always review AI-generated cards before saving or studying them.
Poly may use basic, privacy-respecting diagnostics and crash reports to understand crashes, device compatibility, feature usage, and app stability. This may include technical information such as app version, device type, operating system version, and crash logs. This information is not sold.
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. Poly does not receive or store your full payment card details. Apple may provide purchase status information so Poly can unlock paid features.
Your data belongs to you. You can export your decks to CSV at any time, and deleting a deck or the app removes the associated local data from your device.
To request removal of waitlist information or other data we control, contact us at the email below.
Poly is not directed at children under the age required by your local laws, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
We may update this policy as Poly evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
